FedEx sponsors the Safe Kids Walk This Way program, which prevents pedestrian-related injuries to children.
Safe Kids Walk This Way teaches safe behaviors to motorists and child pedestrians and creates safer, more walkable communities. Since 1999, Safe Kids coalitions have joined with FedEx employee volunteers to teach kids about pedestrian safety year round, with special programs for International Walk to School Day and Halloween.
The goal of the initiative is preventing pedestrian-related injury to children. Since the launch of the program in spring 2000, Safe Kids Walk This Way has spanned the globe, engaging FedEx volunteers to reach families in hundreds of communities throughout the United States and around the world.
With support from FedEx, Walk This Way programs are conducted by Safe Kids USA’s 600 local coalitions and chapters. They reach families through:
- International Walk to School Day
- Halloween Activities
- Pedestrian Task Forces
