Research/Project Assistant
Location: Hanoi, Vietnam (Stationed at Vietnam Clean Air Partnership (VCAP)
Duration of contract with Clean Air Asia: 12 months, with possibility of extension based on satisfactory performance and availability of project funds

The Clean Air Asia India Office calls for applications from young, dynamic candidates as Project Assistant/Researcher to be based in Hanoi, Vietnam (Vietnam Clean Air Partnership) under the Fredkorpset Norway South- South exchange program.
RESPONSIBILITIES AND SCOPE OF WORK
Under the direct supervision of the Vietnam Clean Air Partnership (VCAP), the Research/ Project Assistant shall support air quality management projects and non-motorized projects jointly implemented by Clean Air Asia and VCAP. The program aims to strengthen the relationship between Clean Air Asia and VCAP through enhanced interactions and strengthened collaborations with stakeholders with similar goals on air quality, climate change, freight, public transport and non-motorized transport.
A. Knowledge Management and Capacity Building
• Carry out literature survey on policies, regulations, standards, action plans and programs related to air quality management in Vietnam and assess levels of impact and implementation and updating AQ action plan for Vietnam
• Develop stakeholder map and conduct a questionnaire survey on air quality management
• Review and compare vehicle and industrial emission standards of Vietnam and Bangladesh and develop a paper
• Assist in preparation of newsletters and database management of host organization (VCAP) and facilitate the cooperative relationship between institutions conducting air quality management in India and Vietnam
• Contribute in enhancing the Clean Air Asia India office continuous effort in building on walkability work in South Asia by updating the walkability app map
• Carry out user surveys on NMT (walkability and Bikeability) perception and field audits especially in urban areas
B. Building Partnerships among Clean Air Asia Networks
• Visit by host partner to home institutions related to clean air (participant helps to liaise and coordinate)
• Help strengthen relationship between VCAP and South Asia partners of Clean Air Asia
• Assist in writing articles for VCAP and the Clean Air Asia India office Newsletters
• Share newsletters of host and partner countries to each other’s networks
C. Project Implementation
• Assist in designing and organizing of seminars, forums and events
• Assist in developing and implementing activities and campaigns on air quality, sustainable transport
• Carry out other tasks relevant to Clean Air Asia’s programs and activities
ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS AND CRITERIA
• A university (bachelor) or a master’s degree in a course related to transport, environment fields, mass communication or social science e.g. environmental engineering, environmental sciences, urban planning, transport, economics
• Minimum of 1 years of relevant experience in a comparable position on air quality, transport and/or climate change
• Strong interest in research and data analysis
• Ability to communicate effectively with excellent oral, written and presentation and communication skills, proficient in English, with good interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of multi-cultural and multi-disciplinary team
• Age requirement: 22-35 years old
• Open to Indian Nationals residing in India
